I'm trusting that everyone's Christmas went nicely. Mine went pretty well - a simple affair at the family's that went without a hitch. Or, at least, only a small one. Despite the pile of food and buckets of water I carefully left for her, Kenobi decided she didn't like being along no sir and peed on some of my stuff. Luckily, it was all washable stuff, but still. Cat pee. Yuck.
The Tally )

Otherwise I came home and set about my 'Really-Hope-It-Won't-Become-A-Tradition Unemployed/Home for Christmas' cleaning. I emptied my drawers and cleaned out my kitchen and went about the usual business of organizing and throwing out of my papers. I also took a few minutes every so often to job hunt, since this time I know I'm not going back, instead of being stung along on a thread of hope.

Besides that, I've decided the only real way to keep myself occupied is with entertainment. Oh, I have other less wasteful plans like comics and working on the pilot of a cartoon I want to pitch, but besides that I really want something to do at night and I've watched all of my current stuff right now anyway. So my plan goes as such: to watch at least one new movie every day for the next year and keep the tally. And now that I have someplace to keep them, the plan seems more feasible. I've got Forbidden Planet, Twilight and Heathers on the queue right now - Heathers should be done something tonight so it'll be my pick for tomorrow. Twilight should be done too, so I'll double-feature it. Cult teen movie vs cult classic teen movie. Should be fun.

But first I need to catch up on nearly a week's worth of Flist and RSS feeds.

WOAH WOAH WOAH WOAH. WHAT

The snow is positively AWESOME outside. It'd been snowing for about a day and a half and then spattered some freezing rain on there like a natural sealant. The trees are covered, the houses are frosted, it looks like a fucking postcard. It would be spectacular if not for the buses going on strike. Now transportation is a barter system of calling up friends and batting eyes and pretty pleases. Stupid buses - strike in a time that wouldn't make it so hard to get to work, why doncha.

Otherwise, this makes it difficult to get my Christmas shopping done. I've only picked up about half my gifts - I've no idea what to get my sister or Tom - and the days, they are a getting shorter. And work's starting to crunch down with only two weeks of work left. I feel like I should be taking a break, I can feel some bits of sickness overtaking me, but I want to tough it out first. Besides, gotta make that Christmas money!

On the happiest note of the week, I've bought some PJs that have recipes on them. You heard me. The pants have a slew of recipes for shortbread, hot chocolate, cookies, ect. It's pretty awesome and they're super comfy. Go team PJ.

I love it when the first staying snow of the year is on the first of Decemeber.
The Joker viral's coming to a head. In the next few days we should be getting 'our final task' which will hopefully lead to a prize, like a trailer. Oh man do I hope for a trailer. But, really, if we don't get anything at the end of the game I'll still be happy. This is an awesome way to keep the interest going while we all wait around for the movie. And all the recent pics released are still awesome and enough for me. I can wait until the proglue release, even if there's gong to be no trailer before hand.
The prologue I'm iffy on. I don't want to see I Am Legend, it's not my kinda movie and all reviews so far say it sucks. But I don't want to spend 15bucks to see 7 minutes on footage on IMAX, but I also don't want to download a crappy cam version. I'd prefer to not watch it alltogether and just see it when the film opens in July, as the prologue's just the first few minutes of the movie, but there's no way I'm going to be able to avoid spoilers for that long of time. Just no way.
But there's still days until it's released, so I'm going to wait anyway.
IT's been bright and sunny this weekend, with exceptions to spots of snow. I went on a walk yesterday and the weather changed at least five times from bright and sunny and clear skies to overcast, grey and blowing snow. Totally bizzare, but now there's a nice white layer over the ground and I'm giddy. Today's been all sunshine and I'm happily spending it with cocoa and movies and kitty cat. The house is clean, I'm doing well with work, everything's hunky. And I just downloaded about 10 days of Christmas music.
Life is good.

Jumping Jimminies, where's our forking snow? We finally get a big old poof of it, and now it's 10 degrees, was raining yesterday and the only white stuff left is a few packed up piles in the parking, and the small bag in my neighbor's bedroom. We're expected to have a green christmas this year. My heart is so torn and broken. I can't even believe that Christmas is next weekend, the lack of pretty flakes make it feel like November's lasting forever, but I only get one birthday in it. Here's to a faint hope that we get even a dusting before old St. Nick comes down.

Also, new update page format? It looks slicker, but it's gonna take me a while to get used to this one.

Well, tonight is the night. The longest night of the year, the hardest time to sleep and one that you'll wake up from the earliest. Where children fall asleep, with plots of catching Santa lingering in their minds. And even if you don't believe in Santa, the exictment for the next morning, out of curiosity or just because it's a time to spend with loved one while wearing your PJs all day and drinking hot chocolate mixed with coffee, with a little candy cane to top it off. It's an excuse to spoil, a chance to feel young again and a time to sing along merrily to 'Rudolf' for the billionth time.

For the young and the young at heart, for richer or poorer, it's not about giving or recieving.

It's about being the first one awake at five AM to sit at the tree and stare at the presents unblinkly like a demented Gollum.

Merry Christmas to my new friends: [info]toetappinbeat, [info]justspies, [info]hellocalamity, and [info]araceli_maura! While I don't know you all very well just yet, I hope your season is wonderful.

Merry Christmas to my creative friends! [info]shibukyu, [info]dorkdance, [info]juliet42, [info]sonicelectronic and [info]tealouie, well wishes for a bout of Christmas creativity!

And to my LJ chatterbox friends, [info]courtney_beth (who introduced me to the Daily Show and GOOD LUCK on your journey so far), [info]kenjimurasame (I totally mispelled that six times ps be on AIM more), [info]jazzymegster (The card's a little wheezy, but expect that account soon!) [info]mythril [info]griever YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE (Give my fridge a Christmas kiss, wouldya?) [info]dreamer_of_time, [info]dreamerdown and [info]animerideth. Get splendid gifts, well wishes and maybe even tons of snow!

And, of course, to all my RL friends, you know who you are and I should hopefully talk to all of you soon. And to everyone whom I haven't mentioned, I obviously don't know you well enough! So don't be shy in the new year and lets talk a little more. :3

And, of course, to any lurkers out there (as there always seem to be some) Merry Christmas to you as well! May tomorrow be happy and bright!

Well, that turned out longer than expected. Goodnight everyone! Presents tomorrow!
