Firstly, I just got back from Enchanted, the new Disney movie that's part animated and mostly live action. It's spectacular!
Firstly, this is clearly a Disney movie, musical numbers, cute animals, happy endings ect. But regardless of being usual family movie fare, it's a great treat for anyone in the nineties generation (meaning born in the eighties and kids in the nineties; I have no idea how to label these things) who grew up with the Disney films. From the very first scene it's a callback to the original classics and there's lots of references from subtle to tongue-in-cheek. I don't want to spoil anything, but one scene is shot for shot referenced from one of the Disney greats.
Animation wise, it was stellar. There was less of it than I would've liked, but considering how much there was and how much time they would've had to work on it, it came out great. Not only was the animation smooth and fluid but the detail was incredible. Every character had soft subtle shading and the dresses Giselle wore were frilled and ruffled and flowy. And the designs, while still Disney-esque, were nicely updated to a clean, more angular look. The only thing that was bad was the dragon. And that was cringeworthy. The design was awkward and for some reason was given a horse-like mouth instead of a crocodillian one, making the lipsync look awful and the dragon much less threatening.
I still loved the movie though. Great callbacks, cute musical numbers, everything I love in a Disney movie. Recomended for any Disney fan!
My birthday was equally stellar last night. No big parties or to-dos, just some friends over for burgers and snacks and we played some Orange Box. I finished Portal and had cake. It was the best day ever. Yay 21!

Argh. The boy and I have been looking at the getting ready to move out now, and have started to look at apartments. I started a bit earlier, but looked much less exstensively. It was mostly just a google and oh, okay approach. Meanwhile the roomie's already managed to rack up a few prime choices, one of which is damn cheap (although probably get what you pay for) and I'm finding very little. Craigslist was no help and about 80% of all the places I'm finding are no pets. That's probably the biggest clincher right now, since I've found a ton of cheap apartments when I think 'Oh, maybe... wait, no pets' Damn my love for my kitty.
I've found some nice apartments, for a decent price, but a less happy location. It's past Prince of Wales and, granted, is closer to this part of town than Jayme's place is. I jus still have this naive little hope of living more downtown. But the price rises the further into the city you go, and if it's still affordable than there's a reason. :( There's some nice places by Ottawa U, but then it's university kids and that's an equal ugh.
There's still physical apartment hunting though - going about to the places I might want to live and calling them up and such. I still have at least a month of gathering time. Here's hoping!
And on a completely different note: OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG ROAD TRIP PLZ K THNX

This will either be very good or very bad. Also, since Steve Jobs of teh Appleness is going to end up on the Board of Disney thanks to it, what was once Disney will be no more. It will be Apple/Disney/PIXAR, or ApplneyXAR.
In a few years time, this mighty giant will swallow up SONY, a few anime companies some videogame deals and maybe a pharmacy chain.
And because ApplneyXAR-SOnimaDAItronicdo Plus is too much of a mouthfull, the name'll just be Blue Sun.
IT HAS BEGUN.
I can't bring about any news without being a total nerd.
