2010 onwards

Today has been a good start to the year. I slept in, lazed around, doodled, cleaned, and am now getting ready to watch End of Time part 2*. 2009 may have made me a little more bitter, but has otherwise left me more determined and otherwise unchanged.

I'm weirded out by how different, and how much younger, I look with my hair at this length. I've also started dressing and acting a bit younger, probably because I'm in a very youth-popular store and live with a teen now. Also, apparently I've started drawing like a highschooler in the 80's with a notebook. My style, it's always a changin'.

*OMG OMG NEW DOCTOR SO EXCITED. I've already been 'spoiled' for his new catchphrase, but I don't care if a lot of people don't take to him right now - I think he's goddamn adorable.

Alright, alright, quick thought sprung up halfway through work today, while mulling/squeeing over last night's awesomefest.
Transformers can be/come from any mechanical device. Everything, as long as it's got a bit of wires and gears and such, can be a possible Transformer.
Including a vibrator.
What would a vibrator Transformer be? Autobot or Decepticon? And what would it's name be? Tingler? Buzzword? Rumblepack?
I don't know why that popped into my head whie I was animating a robot strangling one of the main charas. But it was funny.

Doctor Who Season 4 casting! Personally I'm QUITE happy about this, I loved the character and think it'll be a nice dynamic, although the same can't be said for a great deal of Who fen, who seem to never be happy unless they're bitching. I think after reading a few posts after the announcement, I'm out of the fandom and am going to enjoy the show peacfully on my own without everyone else pissing in the pot.
I'm still going to read the slash, though.

Babies are liars When I was a babe I used to cry and cry at the early hours in the morning and when my harried mother finally came into the room I would smile and giggle and wave at her. Really, I just wanted attention and if I couldn't sleep, no one could. I was a right bitch of a baby and once my mum started ignoring me I learned.
If there's any reason for me to not have (biological) children, it's all the stories of what I was like.

We were meant to be here I've just been reading up on some universe/big bang/stars and the planets dealing, so finding this was at the right timing. Personally I love science like this, where the theories and possibilites of shit that we might not be able to understand are kept on the table, rather than be swept under the rug because we cant understand and don't want to be reminded.

Voxdate: How I lost my wallet

I just HAD to lose my credit card right when something spectacularly awesome like this is printed over at Threadless. Like, seriously, that hurts my very soul. I want so hard.

I also really want a Dalex shirt, or anything Doctor Who right now. I'm so back into it after watching the last few episodes up to Sound of Drums last night. Seriously, The Master is now my favorite villian ever and I'm going to go back and watch the old school episodes he was in, if I can find them.
Why couldn't this have been on, and on in Canada, when I was a kid? I remember being told about it for sure. My whole family is sci-fi nerds. I grew up watching Star Trek and Stargate with the folks and reading science fiction short stories, since my mum wrote some and we had tons of anthologies. And I remember when I was young, my parents telling me about this show 'Doctor Who' where he travelled through time in this phone booth that was bigger on the inside than the outside. I remember thinking that the phone booth thing was awesome, but that the Doctor himself was lame. Firstly, I think my folks described the Fourth Doctor, but I remember him being described as older, so being old automatically makes him boring to a kid. Or at least me. Also, I thought the name was the stupidest thing ever. Who calls themselves Doctor Who?
But many years later I got over that and kept meaning to watch the new series, but just never had the time, it being first year of college and all that. I got to watch the Christmas Invasion, which I thought was just amazing, but then never caught season 2 when it was on CBC, mostly 'cause I didn't try hard enough. And college.
And now I'm all in, hook, line and sinker. Why couldn't this have been around when I was a kid? It's amazing.

Also, do distract from my long, autobiographical ramblings, Captain Jack Harkness. Great secondary character, or the Greatest secondary character? I'm currently rewatched all the eps with him in it, as well as Torchwood, because I love him so hard.

Well, all finished up the most recent eps of Doctor Who! And I'm so glad I waited to watch Blink in the daylight.
Blink )

I didn't particularly like Utopia all that much though. I mean, certain characters yay (And lol at all the 'Would you STOP that?' cause he's so jealous), but I didn't think too much of the plot. Maybe it's just cause I don't really like End of the Universe dealings, so I just had a prejudice beforehand.
We'll have to see when the next episode plays out.

Oh, and anyone know if Tennant's coming back for season 4?

Voxdate: Halifax weather gts me all misty.

OH MAN, I spent nearly all of today catching up on season 3 of Doctor Who. Amazing! I'm on Ep 9 right now, just about to start, but I'd figure I'd blog for a bit first before heading back into it. Can't wait to get all caught up before the season finale. :D Sounds like it's going to be exciiiiting.
Thank all ye gods for TVlinks.co.uk. Now that my torrents don't work anymore I can't download movies or TV seasons - I'v resorted to ripping rentals (though I've rapidly increased my selection via that way) and watching the shows via streaming media. Once I'm done with the Doctor I'll finish up Torchwood and then head on to Veronica Mars s3.
Any other good sci-fi shows I can catch up on once I'm done? Or shows (or even movies) period? I spend a ton of time on the comp, so having alittle entertainment on the side while I work is totally awesome.
Also, Bridge to Terabithia and Gray Matters come out tomorrow! I'll have to rent them out and and see if they're any good. If BtT makes me cry, then it's good. That's still one of the most memorably books of my childhood.

HUGE linkspam today.
